Pre-Meeting Laboratory Tour for Journalists

15 February

The University of British Columbia is organizing a pre-meeting tour of its research facilities. The tour is for WORKING PRESS ONLY. Bus transportation will be provided. Learn more and RSVP.


AAAS President's Breakfast and Briefing

The breakfast briefing with AAAS President Nina Fedoroff will be held in Room 306, Vancouver Convention Centre.
 

Gala Welcome Reception for Reporters

Vancouver Aquarium

AAAS welcomes reporters with a special reception at the beautiful Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park.

Science Journalism Roundtable

Winners of the 2011 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards will be invited to a special luncheon in their honor, hosted by The Kavli Foundation, to include a moderated roundtable discussion. All newsroom registrants welcome. Priority seating will be provided for working reporters. Room 306, Vancouver Convention Centre.

AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards

Science World at Telus World of Science

All newsroom registrants are invited to the awards reception and ceremony at Science World at Telus World of Science. The awards have been endowed by The Kavli Foundation. Shuttle buses will be provided from the Vancouver Convention Centre beginning at 6:45 PM.

Euroscience Open Forum 2012 Update

Representatives of Euroscience Open Forum 2012 will discuss plans for the meeting in Dublin, Ireland on 11-15 July.

Wine-and-Cheese Reception

Sponsored by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Vesa Niinikangas, president of the World Federation of Science Journalists, will introduce the new director of the World Federation and announce the names of the winners of seven scholarships to attend the 2012 Kavli Prizes Ceremony in Oslo in September. Nils Christian Stenseth, the president of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, will participate.
