2014 AAAS Annual Meeting Newsroom
The theme of the 2014 AAAS Annual Meeting in Chicago is "Meeting Global Challenges: Discovery and Innovation." According to AAAS President Phillip A. Sharp, scientific discovery and innovation "are driving solutions to current and future global challenges, including sufficient food, quality healthcare, renewable fuels, and a sustainable environment." The wide-ranging AAAS Annual Meeting will feature more than 160 scientific symposia and lectures; a poster competition; career fair; career workshops; and an exhibit hall.

Sharp, a Nobel laureate and Institute Professor at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will deliver the President's Address at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, 13 February 2014.
