These microscope images of podosomes, cellular structures thought to be involved in cancer, show the differences in clarity produced by conventional microscopic techniques (left) and super-resolution imaging (right). Salk researchers have developed a method of utilizing cloud computing to significantly reduce the time necessary for processing super-resolution images.
