A GPM Satellite Flyover of Tropical Storm Darby The animated flyby from NASA's GPM satellite shows Tropical Storm Darby in 3-D on July 23. GPM saw a line of intense storms in Darby, located southeast of the big island of Hawaii was dropping rain at a rate of over 136 mm (5.4 inches) per hour and storm top heights of over 13 km (8.1 miles) in areas of the tropical storm.
