SNIFS (IMAGE) DOE/Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Caption The SuperNova Integral Field Spectrograph (SNIFS) was designed and integrated by SNfactory collaborators based at the University Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) in Paris and the University of Lyon. Mounted on the University of Hawaii’s 2.2-meter telescope on Mauna Kea, SNIFS integrates spectral and brightness information from numerous regions in compound images of each supernova and its host galaxy.
