Making a Control from a Plant Virus (IMAGE) Case Western Reserve University Caption Case Western Reserve University researchers are trying to make a positive control for the quickest and most sensitive test for Ebola, in order to reduce false negative readings. They plan to replace the tobacco mosaic virus nucleic acid, in blue, with non-infectious sequences of Ebola Virus nucleic acid. The protective protein coat, in orange, encapsulates and protects the nucleic acid cargo.
