Caption: The sea nettle, Chrysaora hysoscella, reaches more than 65 cm umbrella diameter and 8 kg wet mass and occurs at densities of up to four individuals per 100 m3. In the July 11, 2006 issue of the journal Current Biology, Lynam et al. report that in the northern Benguela, off Namibia, these animals contribute to a jellyfish biomass that now exceeds the biomass of fish.
