Caption: Infrared spectromicroscopy analyses of D. vulgaris during oxygen-stress adaptive response depict a well-orchestrated series of chemical changes, such as spikes in levels of metabolites and hydrated sulfur clusters. The graph tracks real-time spectral changes of D. vulgaris as they transition from an oxygen-free to oxygenated environment.
