Caption: A team of scientists from Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Arizona, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and Iowa State University has finished sequencing the DNA of corn. The newly finished corn genome sequence should accelerate efforts to develop better crop varieties to meet society's increasing demands for food, livestock and alternative energy. Jim Dryden reports.
