Caption: Compared to other galaxies of this type the ESO 546G-34 has a very low content of oxygen, nitrogen and an extremely small amounts of heavier elements. It contains at least 50 percent gas, which is several times higher than the corresponding values for a large evolved galaxy like the Milky Way. Also the amount of stars is lower.
