Caption: Dr. Eric Olson (right), chairman of molecular biology, and Dr. Eva van Rooij, a postdoctoral researcher, helped discover that a minute snippet of RNA, a chemical cousin of DNA, controls damage to the heart under several types of stress. The discovery could mean that blocking the small molecule might eventually become a way to prevent or treat heart damage.
