Caption: Dr. Michael White (right), professor of cell biology, and Dr. Angelique Whitehurst, postdoctoral researcher, used a quick-screen technology to isolate 87 genes that seem to affect how sensitive human cancer cells are to certain chemotherapy drugs. The discovery may eventually allow health-care professionals to lower the dose of chemotherapy drugs without compromising effectiveness.
