Caption: Dr. Craig J. Newschaffer is the director of the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute at Drexel University, the nation's first autism center focused on public health science. Areas of emphasis will include environmental risk factor epidemiology and exposure biology (discovering preventable causes of autism), early diagnosis and intervention, adolescent and adult population outcomes, and risk communication. Newschaffer is a professor and chair of the department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Drexel University School of Public Health.
