Caption: Junjun Zhang, graduate student in geophysical sciences, measured the titanium isotopic compositions of five terrestrial samples, 37 meteorites and 24 lunar samples in environmentally controlled conditions at the Origins Laboratory at UChicago. She found that the moon’s titanium isotopic composition is virtually identical to Earth’s.
