Caption: For the various analyses it was necessary to transport 500 liters of North Sea water into the lab. Here, colleagues from the Biologische Anstalt Helgoland fix the water container to the crane. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the May 4, 2012, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by H. Teeling at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen, Germany, and colleagues was titled, "Substrate-Controlled Succession of Marine Bacterioplankton Populations Induced by a Phytoplankton Bloom."
