Caption: Dr. David Boothman (left), a professor in the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Dr. Erik Bey, a postdoctoral researcher in the center, are members of a research team that has determined how a substance derived from the bark of the South American lapacho tree kills certain kinds of cancer cells. Their findings may ultimately suggest a novel treatment for the most common type of lung cancer.
