TRMM 3-D Vertical Slice though the Center of System 94E

Caption: The TRMM 3-D vertical slice though the center of System 94E shows that convective towers within this area were reaching heights of over 15km (~9.3 miles). The energy released by heavy rainfall within these towers can hasten the birth of a tropical cyclone.
