Sea Anemone Genome Surprises

Caption: Feeding Response: Nematostella captures brine shrimp with its tentacles. The prey sticks to and gets paralyzed by the stinging cells and is brought to the mouth by the tentacles.. The study, Dr. Nicholas Putnam and colleagues at Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute in Walnut Creek, CA, was titled "Sea Anemone Genome Reveals Ancestral Eumetazoan Gene Repertoire and Genomic Organization."
