Atlantic Circulation Varies Widely in a Year 2 (of 4)

Caption: Deployment of moorings and instrumentation in the Atlantic between the Bahamas and Africa for the RAPID-MOC/MOCHA experiment to continously measure the meridional overturning circulation. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Aug. 17, 2007, issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Stuart Cunningham and colleagues of the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, was titled "Temporal Variability of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation at 26.5°N."
