An interdisciplinary, multi-institutional research team led by UC San Diego bioengineering professor Kun Zhang received a $9.3 million NIH grant to develop a map of the human cortex that will enable scientists to detect subtle differences between individual cells that may account for the origins of disease and other brain disorders.
