Caption: Professor Louis L. Jacobs at Southern Methodist University in Dallas has been honored by the Science Teachers Association of Texas to receive its prestigious 2012 Skoog Cup. Jacobs was selected for his leadership and contributions advancing quality science education. A world-recognized vertebrate paleontologist, he is a professor in SMU's Roy M. Huffington Department of Earth Sciences in Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences and president of SMU's Institute for the Study of Earth and Man.
