Installing Instrument Deck onto NASA's Magnetospheric MultiScale (MMS) Structure #

Caption: Engineers use a special crane to install the instrument deck onto NASA’s Magnetospheric MultiScale (MMS) Structure #2 in the early hours of Dec. 11, 2012 in the special MMS cleanroom at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. MMS Observatory #2 will remain at Goddard during the next several months while engineers and technicians integrate additional flight hardware and conduct necessary functional and environmental tests.
