Caption: Colleen Le Prell, Ph.D., University of Florida, is an associate professor of speech, language and hearing sciences. She and colleagues devised a way to test anti-hearing-loss drugs by safely creating temporary, reversible hearing loss in people. The new test method could help land needed drugs on pharmacy shelves sooner. The findings appear in the November/December 2012 issue of the journal Ear and Hearing.
