Caption: Pictured are Andrena erigenia on Claytonia virginica. A bee species named and collected by Robertson 120 years ago, Andrena erigenia was also collected by Marlin 40 years ago and by Knight and Burkle in 2009-2010. By washing archival specimens of the bees, Knight and Burkle were able to study the pollen the bees were carrying when they were collected in the field.
