Teeth Tell Fish Tale (1 of 2)

Caption: Head-on view of a stickleback with small teeth lining the mouth. The specimen is stained to show the skeleton. Each tooth is less than a millimeter long, and roughly the thickness of a human hair. This image relates to an article that appeared in the Sept. 28, 2007, issue of the journal Science, published by AAAS. The study, by Dr. Mark A. Purnell and colleagues at University of Leicester in Leicester, UK, was titled "Correlated Evolution and Dietary Change in Fossil Stickleback."
