Its volume loss since the middle of the 19th century is well visible from the trimlines to the right of the image. This image relates to a paper that appeared in the May 17, 2013, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Alex S. Gardner at Clark University in Worcester, MA, and colleagues was titled, "A Reconciled Estimate of Glacier Contributions to Sea Level Rise: 2003 to 2009."
