Antennal Lobe

Caption: In the normally developed antennal lobe (left), the Or43b olfactory axons (green fibers) converge on a pair of glomeruli (green globules). Development of these highly specific, symmetrical structures is severely disrupted in mutants lacking Wnt5 (center image) and in those lacking the derailed (right) receptors. In the mutant lacking derailed receptors, the glomeruli are misplaced.
