Connecting Simulation to Experiment

Caption: Because nanowire networks are deposited randomly, the role that contact resistance, or the amount of resistance that results from electrons traveling from one wire to another, plays in the overall resistance of the network is hard to determine. By developing a simulation of these networks based on their other parameters, such as nanowire length and width, the researchers can match the simulated electrical resistances (lines) to experimental values (points) and extract the contact resistance.
