Caption: This is a rare photo of a Bryde's whale breaching in the Swatch-of-No-Ground, Bangladesh. Researchers from WCS, the American Museum of Natural History, Columbia University, and others have genetically confirmed the existence of two subspecies of Bryde's whale -- offshore and coastal forms -- in the Indian and western Pacific Oceans, important information for the management of a species hunted by Japan for scientific purposes.
