Reorganization in the Visual Cortex

Most of the neurons in the zone where images are projected from the damaged retina can achieve their original activity level again thanks to new connections formed with neighboring cells. The colors in the lower part of the image indicate the points on the retina from which the input to which the neurons show the strongest reaction is received.
