Caption: Switchgrass, such as this field growing at the UT Research and Education Center in Milan, Tenn., in 2007, is expected to be a major feedstock for the production of cellulosic ethanol. The biorefinery in Vonore should begin producing 2 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol from locally supplied switchgrass and woody biomass in 2010.
