This is the third in a series of textbook evaluations by Project 2061. Earlier evaluations are being used by textbook adoption committees around the country, as well as publishers developing new textbooks.
AAAS has a 150-year history of leadership on a broad range of important scientific and societal issues. As publisher of Science magazine, AAAS is an internationally respected source of information about all aspects of science and technology. AAAS initiated Project 2061 in 1985 to reform science and math education in grades K-12 so that all high-school graduates are "science literate."
