Chemical education in the United States and Germany: a look into the 21st century

Are American students performing at the level of their international counterparts in science and mathematics? Are teachers adequately prepared in these fields? What can we learn from other countries to improve science education in America?

Join experts from Germany and the United States on Thursday, May 3, at Boston University as they discuss successes and challenges in chemical education. The symposium, sponsored by the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society and the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker, is open to the public at no charge.

The symposium is the culmination of a week-long visit of 10 German chemists to the Boston area to share experiences and ideas with American chemists.
