Europe’s most important breast cancer conference is taking place soon in Barcelona

About EBCC-3…
- More than 3000 clinicians, scientists and patient advocates will attend.
- Presentations will review new developments in molecular biology, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, psycho-social implications of breast cancer and quality of life aspects, the role of patient advocates and breast cancer support groups.
- Daily media briefings in English will focus on new research findings and also include controversial issues such as screening, and the Europe-wide threat to the future of breast cancer research. Briefings in Spanish will also be held.
-Cristina Hoyos, famous Spanish flamenco dancer, breast cancer survivor and advocate, will receive the Nathwani Prize during the Opening Ceremony. This prize is conferred to a person who demonstrated commitment to the humanities in breast cancer research, treatment or advocacy.
- Spanish opera singer José Carreras will offer a special recital on the occasion of EBCC-3 with benefits to go to cancer projects.
