CDC MMWR; tularemia and its potential use as a biological weapon

WHO: Drs. Katherine Feldman and Ned Hayes, CDC zoonotic disease experts

WHAT: To discuss this week’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report article, Tularemia – United States, 1990-2000.

Drs. Feldman and Hayes will discuss naturally occurring tularemia in the United States and its potential use as a biological weapon. Understanding the patterns of tularemia enables public health professionals to recognize unusual patterns of disease occurrence that might signal an outbreak or bioterrorism event.
