Secretary Evans will be joined by Charles Vest, President of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and John Hodges, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of DuPont at the luncheon event sponsored by the American Chemical Society, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the House Science Committee.
The leaders will discuss the importance of inspiring young Americans to excel in math and science to build our nation’s future workforce and maintain U.S. leadership in the global marketplace. Secretary Evans will also recognize a group of high school students and their teacher from Bingham County, Idaho, who embody the spirit of Global Science and Technology Week. The group is using the Global Positioning System of satellites (GPS) and geographic information systems and software to help their community by mapping critical state resources.
