WHAT: To discuss two articles in this week’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, “Alcohol Use Among Women of Childbearing Age” and “Suspected Cutaneous Anthrax in a Laboratory Worker- Texas, 2002”

April is Alcohol Awareness Month. CDC reports that rates of frequent drinking during pregnancy remain high. Dr. Floyd will discuss Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, one of the most prevalent developmental disabilities affecting children.

Drs. Rosenstein and Page will discuss a case of cutaneous anthrax in a Texas lab worker. The lab worker may have become infected because of a skin exposure to a contaminated surface.
