The briefing and discussion will focus on: the impact of science and technology on the economy; the growth of industry research and development (R&D) activity over the last decade; and continued under-investment by the federal government in areas of research and education critical for U.S. global competitiveness.
This year’s highlights will include for the first time a list of the top 20 states in R&D, noting which states have gained ground and which have lost ground since the last Indicators report in 2000.
Science and Engineering Indicators reviews, every two years, the state of science and engineering research and education in the U.S., and is the most comprehensive source of information on R&D for universities, industry and the federal government.
