Media Advisory-- Results of California autism epidemiology study to be unveiled

WHAT:
Results of the first-ever statewide epidemiologic study of autism will be made public.

WHEN:
10:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002

WHERE:
UC Davis Medical Center

Parking is available in main parking structure at Stockton Blvd. and Colonial Way

WHY:
In 1999, the California Legislature and Gov. Gray Davis directed the M.I.N.D. Institute at UC Davis to explore factors that may be associated with an increase in the number of children with autism in the state. The results of the study are being presented to the Legislature prior to the press conference on Oct. 17.
