1. Sessions and Abstracts now online

The organizers expect between 9-10,000 scientists to attend the meeting. The sessions and over 14,000 accepted abstracts for Joint Assembly have been posted on the special Web site. The organizers expect between 9-10,000 scientists to attend the meeting.

Sessions, by scientific section: http://www.copernicus.org/EGS/egsga/nice03/programme/overview.htm To learn when a session takes place, click on the word "schedule" in the description of that session.

Abstracts: From within the description of a session, click on "accepted contributions," which opens a list of abstracts for that session. To read any of these abstracts, click on its number (first line), which opens a pdf file.

Please note that a list of abstracts believed by session conveners to be of particular interest to journalists is available on the Press page of the Web site at http://www.cosis.net/members/meetings/special_interest/programme_overview.php?m_id=8&sp_id=1.

Or click on "Press Abstract Overview" on the Press Office page:
http://www.copernicus.org/EGS/egsga/nice03/Press_Office.htm).

We are developing press conferences on some of these topics, as well as others. They will be announced in a subsequent advisory.

2. Reminder: Hotel booking deadline is near!

The deadline for booking hotels in Nice at the Joint Assembly rate is March 7, but some of the hotels are already full. For full information on hotel locations, facilities, prices, and availability, as well as a link to the booking form, go to: http://www.copernicus.org/EGS/egsga/nice03/hotel_booking.htm

3. Press registration information and form

The deadline for Press pre-registration is 7 March, meaning your badge will be waiting for you upon arrival at Joint Assembly, avoiding very long onsite registration lines. Advance registration must be done online. The Press Registration Form is available at:

http://www.copernicus.org/EGS/egsga/nice03/press_reg_form.htm

Onsite Press registration will be at the main registration desk (not in the Press Room).

4. Excursion to Oceanographic Museum in Monaco

We are considering an excursion for Press Registrants to the renowned oceanographic museum and aquarium in Monaco on Sunday, 6 April. We cannot yet confirm that we would receive any special consideration (e.g., free admission, behind the scenes tour, discussion of current research projects), but if there is sufficient interest, we will conduct the trip. If there is no special program, you may visit the aquarium on your own once there.

If you are registered or planning to register as Press for Joint Assembly, please send a message to Harvey Leifert (hleifert@agu.org) With subject line "Monaco Excursion" and state one of the following:

1. Count me in, regardless of whether there is an admission fee (11 euros) or special tour or discussion.
2. I will participate only if admission is free and there is some special program for our group.
3. I will not be participating in this excursion.
(Please do not return this entire advisory!)
