Psychoanalysts to convene 92nd Annual Meeting
New York, NY-The 92nd Annual Meeting of the American Psychoanalytic
Association
will be held at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, 64 Arlington Street, in Boston
from Wednesday,
June 18 through Sunday, June 22, 2003.

A wide range of sessions will be on the Scientific Program including:
- "Does Psychoanalysis Have Anything to Offer an Understanding of Terrorism?"
- Psychoanalytic Approach to Working with Caregivers and Preschool Children:
Case Examples of Developmental Delay, Sensory Integration Dysfunction and
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
- "The Substance Abusing Patient in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy"
- "Immigration and Identity: Turmoil, Treatment and Transformation"
as well as those related to Boston:
- "Oral History Workshop: Psychoanalysis in Boston: 1906 to the present"
- "Symposium on Four Programs of Applied Psychoanalysis in Boston:
The Training and Education of Parents, Day Care Providers, and Mental
Health Clinicians"
- "Psychoanalysis and Theater: Pericles: Discussion with the Dramaturg of
the Current A.R.T. Production"
Almost 10% of APsaA's national membership reside and practice in the state
of Massachusetts.
Three of the organization's 29 affiliates are located in the state: the
Boston Psychoanalytic Society
and Institute (http://bostonpsa.org/) and the Psychoanalytic Institute of
New England, East
(http://www.analysis.com/pine/), both in Boston; and the Berkshire Society
for Psychoanalysis, in Great Barrington.
Founded in 1911, APsaA is a professional organization of psychoanalysts
throughout the United States.
The Association is composed of Affiliate Societies and Training Institutes
in many cities and has approximately
3,500 individual members. APsaA is a Regional Association of the
International Psychoanalytical Association.
