Nuclear Medicine Mobile Educational Coach to debut in the Big Easy

Be among the first to explore the Educational Coach when it makes its inaugural appearance at the Society of Nuclear Medicine’s (SNM) 50th Annual Meeting!

The educational coach is an exciting new resource designed to educate audiences about the vital role of nuclear medicine in general and positron emission tomography (PET) technology in particular in detecting and evaluating some of the most serious medical conditions of the 21st century – from heart disease to cancer to brain disorders. Donated by the Molecular Imaging Corporation (OTC BB: MLRI), the coach will include displays explaining various aspects of nuclear medicine and PET technology, as well as actual PET and other equipment.

"This is a valuable new resource that will help increase public awareness about the crucial role of molecular imaging technology in modern medicine," declared Dr. Henry N. Wagner, Jr., SNM historian. "The generosity of Molecular Imaging Corporation, as well as equipment donations by Amici, Inc., Bracco Diagnostics, GE Medical Systems, Siemens Medical Systems, Inc., Philips Medical Systems and AK Specialty Vehicles have made the coach possible, and we look forward to working with our partners over the next year as it travels around the country."

"Because PET represents a new standard of care, this mobile exhibit presents an ideal forum to educate physicians and the public on its approved uses," said Paul J. Crowe, President and CEO of the Molecular Imaging Corporation. "As public and private insurers continue to approve and expand reimbursement for the use of PET in cancer, cardiovascular disease, women's health and newer applications like Alzheimer's, which is currently under review, our collective goal is to ensure that physicians and the public are educated about the approved uses and socio-economic benefits derived from this diagnostic imaging procedure. With the SNM, we expect all of us will move towards achieving this goal over the coming year."
