Invasive plants: Arming to defend and win

7th annual conference of the Southeast Exotic Pest Plant council

The seventh annual conference of the Southeast Exotic Pest Plant Council, held May 3-5 in Birmingham, AL, will focus on technological and partnership strategies to eradicate and control nonnative invasive plants in the Southeastern United States. The conference is hosted by the Alabama Invasive Plant Council and open to all impacted land agencies, organizations, industries, and individuals interested in finding solutions to a growing problem.

Presentations include: the latest findings from USDA Forest Service surveys, developments in biological control research, ecological impacts and genetic variability in nonnative invasive plants, and the restoration of areas treated for invasives. Several sessions feature strategies for developing partnerships and funding for invasive species programs across private, industrial, State, and Federal boundaries.
