'Six Years of Science with Chandra' symposium open to media

Members of the media are invited to attend the "Six Years of Science with Chandra" symposium to be held Nov. 2-4, 2005, in Cambridge, Mass. More than 200 scientists are expected to present the latest from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory – covering such topics as black holes, exploded stars and the composition of the universe. Potential news conferences and releases are now being considered, and more details will be available in a second media advisory in October.

Registration for the media is free and can be handled through the conference Web site at http://cxc.harvard.edu/symposium_2005/index.html. Please note that any media member must pay to attend the symposium dinner at the Boston Museum of Science on Thursday, Nov. 3. Also, hotel arrangements should be handled directly. The symposium hotel is the Royal Sonesta Boston, but there are many other lodging options in the area.

For those reporters who cannot attend the conference in person, there are plans for call-in opportunities for all press conferences. Please indicate if that would be of interest to you.
