Best practices for parenterals: From formulation to manufacturing

AAPS workshop hosts experts at intensive six-day January retreat

WHAT: The AAPS 42nd Annual Pharmaceutical Technologies Arden Conference Best Practices for Parenteral Dosage Forms: Formulation and Process Development, Package Selection, and Manufacturing will update scientists on the latest technologies for developing parenteral dosage forms for both small molecules and biologics. The broad range of topics featured will be addressed with presentations from field experts followed by group discussion and specific case studies. A keynote address by Dr. Michael Akers of Baxter BioPharma Solutions kicks off the meeting with an overview of parenteral research in his speech "Top Ten Scientific Issues in Parenterals 2007."

WHY: A parenteral dosage form refers to a medication or vaccine that is administered by injection, intravenous infusion, or implantation. Scientists working with both small and large molecules come across similar issues when developing parenteral dosage forms. Reporters attending this exclusive meeting will gain unparalleled insight into all aspects of parenteral development, including formulation, delivery devices, risk assessment and quality control.
