Life Cycle Management comprises approaches that enable environmental, economical and social sustainability concepts to be put into practice. The LCM2007 Conference aims to facilitate exchange of experience and know-how between researchers and professionals from industry and public institutions working on the application and implementation of ‘life-cycle approaches’. Such approaches consider the complete life-cycle of products and processes ‘from cradle to grave’ (or ‘cradle to cradle’). One example is the CO2 Footprint Method, aimed at mitigating the effect of products on global warming by accounting for all CO2 emissions over a product’s life-cycle (taking into consideration resource extraction, all transport processes, and both the use and disposal phases).
