Workshops on biotechnology and water for science journalists

There are still some places available on two international workshops for science journalists that the Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) is organizing at the start of 2008. The topics are 'biotechnology for sustainability' and 'drinking water and sanitary engineering'. The two workshops are to be held consecutively, both last two days and can be combined or attended seperately. The Delft University of Technology will cover the costs for board and lodgings whilst journalists are in Delft attending the workshops.

Biotechnology for sustainability

The first workshop (8-9 January) focuses on the use of biotechnology for sustainability. The objective of the workshop is to get hands-on experience with the latest in biotechnology research and to stimulate discussion about biotechnology and sustainability between life scientists and science journalists.

Drinking water and sanitary engineering

The second workshop (10-11 January) focuses on the latest developments in drinking water and sanitary engineering. The workshop will address both high-tech solutions for developed countries and low cost solutions for developing countries (including Millennium Development Goals).
