Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, March 4th, a group of prominent scientists, engineers and graduate students, joined by Representatives Rush Holt (D-NJ) and Judy Biggert (R-IL), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Research and Development Caucus, will hold a press conference to address the severe repercussions of recent underfunding of key science agencies, including NASA, the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense and the Department of Energy’s Office of Science.
The press conference is part of the annual “Congressional Visits Day” sponsored by the Science Engineering and Technology Working Group (SETWG), which is comprised of more than 30 organizations representing a broad cross section of science and technology in academia, government and private industry. The scientists, engineers, and graduate students will offer their perspectives on the importance of basic research to future innovation and competitiveness.
