Boulder, CO, USA - Geoscientists will gather 30 March-1 April 2008 for the 42nd Annual Meeting of the South-Central Section of the Geological Society of America. The meeting takes place at the Hot Springs Convention Center, Hot Springs, AR, and will be hosted by geoscientists from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Earth Sciences and the Arkansas Geological Survey.

Field trips include two walking tours to explore geologic hazards and general geology along Central Avenue in downtown Hot Springs. Trips will also be taken to Certain Teed gypsum mine and the Crater of Diamonds State Park, plus an active Fayetteville Shale drill site. MEDIA REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Eligibility for media registration is as follows:
Journalists and PIOs must pay for any short courses or field trips in which they wish to participate.
Representatives of the business side of news media, publishing houses, and for-profit corporations must register at the main registration desk and pay the appropriate fees.
Complimentary meeting registration covers attendance at all technical sessions and access to the exhibit hall. Media must pay regular fees for paid luncheons, field trips, etc.
