Senate Democrats with TSC to discuss role of basic research and importance of strong funding

Senators and the Science Coalition to address competitiveness, biomedical discovery, climate change, alternative energy development

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senators Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) will be available to the media Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. EST, to discuss the importance of a strong American research enterprise to addressing issues in biomedical research, climate change research, and alternative energy development. They will be joined my Dr. William Brody, President of Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Mary Sue Coleman, President of the University of Michigan, Dr. Roger Kornberg, Nobel Laureate from Stanford University, and other members of The Science Coalition (TSC).
